POLAR BEAR:

The polar bear is one of the largest land carnivores and largest bears in the world. An adult male weighs about 750 to 1,500 pounds, and measures about 8 to 10 feet in length. The female polar bear is approximately half the size of the male.
While polar bears are born on land, they spend a great deal of their time in the water. Because of this, the polar bear requires certain characteristics which help it survive in the cold northerly climate. For example, a polar bear has large paws in order to distribute their weight when walking on ice or snow, as well as to help provide propulsion when swimming. Polar bears have a higher percentage of meat in their diet than any other bear species which makes sense due to the lack of vegetation.
