MOOSE:

Moose are the largest deer in the world. Their humped shoulders, long gangly legs, stubby tail, huge nose, large ears and massive antlers (male) make these creatures look as if they were thrown together from “spare parts”. Often larger than a horse, an angry or even irritated moose can cause harm or heavy damage. Females with calves are very protective and can charge with great speed. Rutting bulls have been known to charge people, horses, cars and even trains.
The moose usually avoids humans and is generally a “loner”, but several may gather near streams and lakes to feed on willows or water lilies. They submerge themselves or roll in mud to find relief from the flies and mosquitoes that torment them. Moose migrate seasonally and may herd in winter, which helps to pack the deep snow making movement easier.
